  • We've been very lucky with this bottle: Ordered in a resto for its lovely price, it ended up as an outstanding experience:

Flawless bottle despite its bright colous (age!) and quite some depot.

Exotic spices, floral notes and some dark, some candied red berries making up for an explosion of aromes in the nose.

Very lean, slightly light and fresh on the palate with identical notes of fruit and spices.
Regardles of its lighter structure, the sublety of the aromes was impressive. Lasted on the palate for several minutes. Even one of our smoking fellows wasn't able to "kill" the aromes with her fag.

With 30+ years of tasting, there are still surprises and sensations. This one was one of them.

With a glass like this in your hand, points mean nothing.

  • Thankfully, consistent to last. Youthful. Dark ruby, no bricking. Nose of rosemary, orange and floral aromatics. Palate has glycerine and sap elements similar to burgundy. Really beautiful.

  • Almost identical to last. Beautiful burgundy color and demeanor- could pass as one in many regards. Light, elegant red fruit. Seemed more like a early 90's wine. Outstanding.

  • Oh the youth! I was praying for one like this. Beautiful ruby color, no real bricking. Very burgundy-like with some wonderful (traditional) layers of meat/stone/leather of CnP. Sour cherry. Light, balanced. Drank it all this time within an hour of opening to guard against the air fruit robbing this one. Good plan.

  • For its age, it still was holding it togeher both in color, scent and material composition. Sour cherry and red fruit are dominant- perhaps even a very little cranberry. It did need an hour to work off some age- a slight flavor of dust on the finish. It more or less dissipated with a bit of time in the glass. It was m y first fro a case of twelve so I in excited for my study of aged Rayas ahead.
