Nose: white chocolate, sesame, caramel, popcorn, rice cake Notes: the Charlemagne turned out to be a great surprise and performed really well. I've had one earlier this year and this bottle I had tonight performed even better. Despite the young age this wine is surprisingly ready with mature and sweet notes of white chocolate, caramel and popcorn. This is the typical classic style white with decent weight and roundness, very enjoyable indeed. I believe another 2-3 year will bring out more potential from the wine but I'm quite satisfied to open this any day. Drink: 2025+ Rating: 92

Nose: pear, caramel, popcornNotes: only 2755 bottles made, I find a lot of 2018 a little out of balanced compared to 2017s. This 2018 is no different, a little too ripe perhaps and really lacks the substance in a good wine. I'm more convinced it's the vintage rather than the maker as the 2017 of the same wine is so much more elegant. The difference in these two vintages are quite clear and I am unable to tell if 2018 is just like that or if it's going to evolve in the future. Anyhow I think one should pay more attention to 2017 right now as it's clearly more fine and ready. This might take another couple of years to evolve so I would wait for another 5-7 years. Drink: 2028+ Rating: 87
