  • Nose: green apple, vanilla, tangerine, sesame, white flowers, corn
Notes: Tasted vertical 07-09. Both the nose and the palate was pretty tight in the beginning and acidity was quite high. After 1.5 hours of breathing the 07 Le Charlemagne showed an intensive aromas of vanilla and sesame. It is difficult to draw a conclusion today as I feel that this wine needs a few more years to develop but right now it's still lacking a bit of flavor but unlike the 2008 which I can predict a much longer drinking period and probably is a better wine by nature, the 2007 is probably not going to deliver much surprises even when it's drank at the right time.

Despite the palate is a little on the acidity side, the 2007 Le Charlemagne was pretty intense and aromatic. I find it difficult to draw any conclusions because I feel this is a great wine but somehow it's still lacking a bit of flavor. Probably a bit more time is needed and a revisit in a few years time is needed.
