  I'm beginning to understand the No Girls Grenache wines. First, they deserve to be consumed relatively young, within the first 10 years I would say. Second, they are true to the terroir, sometimes to a fault. The "funk" tends to become dominant in these wines after 10 years or so as the fruit and tannins integrate. If you did the "funk", you are in for a treat, if not, drink 'em up young! They have a LOT going on for them in the early years. The '17 grenache delicious and and opened up after about 20 minutes to open up and as it blew off some of the "Rocks" funk. Then it settled into a solid groove with raspberry, plum, smoke, bacon grease, rustu iron and gravel. Lots of dry, dusty gravel. Silky smooth tannins and solid body. As it evolved in the glass, spice and minerals came to the fore, with the aforementioned funk reappearing on the finish. While it will continue to evolve in the bottle, for me this is prime time. I'd consume the '17 bottling in the nxt 2-3 years.

  Has a great weight - not to heavy or viscous, but loads of "pop" on this wine. Great with smoked pork chops.
