Surprised that this 21 yr old Bordeaux Superior is still very much alive. I haven't tasted prior vintages, and I'm sure the wine is somewhat diminished from earlier in it's life. Subdued aromas of mature dark fruit and underlying minerality. Medium to light body. Hints of plum and dried cherry up front with suggestions of espresso and graphite emerging and perhaps some slight chocolate notes. Very soft tannins on the finish. Very enjoyable mature bordeaux to be enjoyed with more restrained cuisine. Thinking pork tenderloin or game birds in a light merlot wine reduction.

With significant bricking and throwing off spoonsfull of sediment, this is nearing the end of its shelf life even when cellar stored. From an outstanding vintage and the hands of a talented garagista, this offering, however, didn’t pop for me. Merlot based, it still offers subtle plum, cassis, tobacco and graphite. But nothing to write home about. (= Pass, as it sits in the glass today)

Once again , this floored most of us with it's beautiful powerful elegance of perfumed dark red blue peacock tail of flavours. So moreish yet so balanced. This was like a very good new world Bordeaux blend and modern Bordeaux coming together nicely. If it was bottles in a traditional Bordeaux shaped bottle I have no doubt ppl might call it a first or at least a super second growth.

Great, great QQR; always has been and this does not disappoint. Decanted for very short time, and poured. Deliciious resolved tannins. This is a fabulous everyday bordeaux.
