This bottle was very good, classic Bordeaux, with nice savory pipe tobacco and leather and drying black fruit. Developed nicely and punching above its station as this estate is well capable of doing.

Well, I can see why the ratings are so varied. I opened and did not decant (I should have), but I let it breathe in the glass for 2 hours. It was closed up, with lots of tannins, although a pretty good nose. On the 2nd day the tannins were much smoother, and the wine tasted smooth and well integrated. I also think the wine has peaked.

Black mold affected. Ingress after a poor seal from previous Coravin access (very unusual for me - stain on top of cork from puncture), from obvious mold on label and bottle. Prior tastings over nearly three years were okay, this - last half - was intolerably bad due to mold ingress.

A weak showing for a wine that I consider a stalwart restaurant option. Came off as dried out, and while not evidently corked or cooked, the diversion from my consistent past experience leads me to check "flawed" rather than give a low score.
