Still as brilliant as one year ago (see TN from 01/22). However, at this point of its evolution the wine needs a healthy decant of 2 hours. Then it rejuvenates, blows off its petrol and really gains in stature. On the deep nose mirabelle, ginger, scents of red fruits and herbal notes. In the mouth this is quite a bruiser with a rocksolid structure and highish acidity, a good balance of extract and a long, dry and salty finish, which is mouth-cleansing like fine champagne. It's quite a testament that the wine not only stands up to the large Zalto Burgundy stems but also shows better than in the Zalto Universal.

An ageless wine and a timeless classic. On the nose this is a wine that does not care about stuff like primary fruit (well, there are some shy scents of mirabelle), instead it is all about rocks and salt. Deep and serious, neither young or aged, just beyond time. In the mouth the wine comes alive after a quick 30 minutes decant, then boasting great intensity and structure, a long mouth-cleansing, bonedry mineral finish and an elevated acidity, which, however, is perfectly balanced by an elegant and quite rich texture. This wine has been compared to a Chablis and I agree with that, as it comes across less playful than german Riesling typically does. But it is a wine of profound character and it should age with grace.

Premier Cru at Grand Cru level (unfortunately the price is also not too far away from a GC). My first Bürklin-Wolf, very impressive. 92+.

Nice enough on the surface, but lacks depth.
