  Yalumba est une vieille maison australienne qui fait du vin depuis plus de 150 ans. Le viognier est une cépage aromatique qui a ses lettres de noblesse à Condrieu et Château-Grillet. Plus producteurs du nouveau monde que ce soit en Colombie-Britannique, Californie ou en Australie en font une version bas de gamme. Je ne crois pas qu’ils pensent faire un Condrieu mais un vin au profil aromatique qui plaira au plus nombreux. Cette version de l’Eden Valley provenant de 6 vignobles est sans prétention, et sans le prix du Condrieu, offre tout de même un profil aromatique intéressant avec des effluves de salade de fruits, de pêche, gingembre et autres fruits à noyaux. En bouche ça se gâte avec une astringence et une finale amère. Il y a tout de même une touche de fruit mais le côté rêche gâche le tout.

  Pale yellow with gold reflections. Lanolin, citrus and beeswax. Energetic orchard fruits on an expansive palate. There’s a touch of bitterness on the finish.

  Not the Virgilius by any stretch and to be fair it'd be a little disappointing if it was.
  At 1/2 the price does this wine offer half the experience? Yup.
  Or
  At double the price is Virgilus double the value? That and more.
  Probably better "nice white wines" out there across various varieties but this did the trick on a balmy Tuesday night with some fish and salad.
