  • Clos Rene apparently made one great wine in 1947….I’ve never had it unfortunately, but this is a seriously good Pomerol. And the price is peanuts compared with most of the top wines of the appellation. A wave of quite lush red and black are lent complexity by some floral notes (violet, lilac) and it has background chocolate, mocha and woodsmoke. I don’t think it’s hard to see where this is going to go - it’s going to become ethereal. Proper Pomerol in a vintage that is going to offer a very wide window of drinkability. What’s not to like…. I think tasting these 2019s it’s easy to become blasé about how supple and delicious they are and how brilliantly the structures are covered.
    A Burgundy lovers Bordeaux.

  • Impressive red fruit on the nose. Silky tanins complete the whole impression of an evolving Pomerol. Cherries and plums dominate the palate together with some spice notes.

Should be decanted / poured ~1 hour before drinking at 16-18 degrees. Starting its drinking window now.

  • After giving it some time to open up a really classic impression of Pomerol with dark red and black fruits, some precious wood and nicely integrated tannins. Open for business now but will get better with some age on it. Liked it and will buy again. I love the old school label, please never ever change it if u are reading this monsieur garde :-)

  • Medium-bodied, soft, fresh and already sporting a nose filled with mint leaf, cherries and mocha. Approachable, fresh, vibrant and already easy to like, with all of its spicy cherries, you and drink this just about on release, or age it for a bit for more secondary nuances. Drink from 2023-2036.

  • Green, lacking fruit, underwhelming.
