Complex and alluring evoking aromas of plum, blackberry, menthol and forrest floor; which is followed by tobacco and a bit of vanilla towards the end. We are talking winemaking here. Medium to full bodied, vivid acidity and fine grained well integrated tannins. This is balanced to a tee. NI:4, FI:23, FC:8, B:5, L:4

Similar to previous notes, a bit muted on the palate showing a somewhat one-dimensional aspect and with the fruit a bit hidden, but otherwise smooth and elegant.

Deep Ruby in complexion, aromas of vanilla, rocks, toasted hazelnut, spices especially cardamom and cloves. Licorice and dark berry driven with a smooth palate. There is balance with a gentle structure. It’s terroir driven by the pretty Pritchard hill mountains. The tannins are well integrated, the finish is lasting. A delicious cabernet from Chappellet which is known for producing excellent wines.

I was pretty disappointed with this wine. Having had the big brother from multiple vintages and this was no even close. It is hard to explain but it just did not appeal to my tastes. If you want a second label US wine go with Napanook.
