Still drinking albeit certainly fully mature at this point. There are defintely still some nice dried fruit notes left although the wine certainly is showing its mature, savory character. It does give the impression of being fairly light of body but shows well for 30 years of age.
Crumbled cork and very advanced color, reddish brown. But this is not oxidized and still alive, smooth and fully resolved mouthfeel with a lot of funk on the nose and some leftover cassis swirling around. Nothing profound, but very pleasant.
With steak a few hours later a bit of a french nose, dusty, leather, aged dried fruit, cheese?? End of bottle, 2 hours, opening up. Sour fruit attack is gone, acids and tannims still there, wow. Long lingering finish of aged jammy wine. Yummy in the end. Some structure emerges. Better. 92ish.
