Community Tasting Notes (3) Avg Score: 90.1 points

  • Slow-ox'd 3 hrs, tasted over 4 hrs; bottle and cork in great shape
-ruddy brick red with some fading
-nicely aromatic, very earthy, a hint of cherry, and some stewed tomato, tied together with a little Burg funk
-surprisingly med acidity (wasn't this a lower acid vintage?), med+ concentration but without a lot of weight, fully envelopes palate with earthy cherry and some tertiary characteristics, moderately long finish with ample tannins yet to resolve (though this was most noticeable at end of bottle with perhaps some sediment), a bit on the rustic/clunky side
-on its plateau with many years left, very Maume with its great aromatics and "elegant rusticity", excellent
