Grenache blind tasting of the world! Comparing Grenache from Australia, France, USA and Spain. Order served blind was: #1 Ochota Barrels Grenache The Fugazi 2021 (90pts) #2 Domaine Giraud Grenache de Pierre 2019 (94pts) #3 Cayuse God Only Knows Grenache 2019 (93pts) #4 Alto Moncayo Garnacha 2020 (92pts) Also included my points for each so you know where I ranked them.
Here are the notes for the Domaine Giraud Grenache de Pierre: Dark red color. Nose is subdued at first but once it opens up, it has a lot of ripe plush fruit with some Chambord blackberry liquor. Palate also needed some time to show itself but once it did it was very beautiful with silky tannins, dark fruits, plum, garrigue, kirsch. Very undeniably Chateauneuf-du-Pape and well made. At first not impressed but once it had around 2hrs of air became my favorite of the 4.

La Tablee: Grenache Seminar (Al Coro): Very pretty style of wine. It's all light and bright and lots of spices with just a background of fruit. Appealing.

Incredibly concentrated, yet light on its feet, here you find countless layers of elegant, vibrant, sweet, perfectly ripe, silky red fruits with intensity, purity, length, balance and complexity. This beauty was produced from 100% old vine Grenache. It will age and evolve for 15-20 or more years with ease. Drink from 2025 - 2040

Not to my taste, too sweet to be enjoyable.

In its price class, it is the holy grail of red wines from Burgundy.
Fantastic wine. It should cost at least 3 times as much.
