I was really hoping to love this, the appassimento approach to some of their grapes was so intriguing - in the end it's ok to me, better on day 2. Decant 2+ hrs day 1 and then back in the bottle. Blackberry, strawberry, the acidity beings pomegranate and currants to mind - it's lacking the depth of intense dark berries I want in a cab. Chocolate, leather & vanilla. Med + body, med acidity, tannins are med - and not overly intense. Decent finish. Doesn't feel like a cab I want to come back to though...

100% Cabernet Sauvignon with 20% of the grapes dried in the Appassimento style. The medium+ intensity nose has ripe black currant, and cassis aromas joined by spices, mocha chocolate, dried herbs, and whiffs of crushed rock. On the dry, medium to medium-full bodied palate it has fresh, juicy acidity that supports the ripe black currant, dark cherry, mocha chocolate, and dried herbal flavours with a slightly tangy mid-palate. Textured tannins have a supple grip. Savoury, earthy, and mocha chocolate notes linger on the fresh finish, with very good length. A bit of a crowd pleaser, a joy to sip.
Dark brooding red colour. Spicy deep red nose. Big solid red, full of dry tannins not bad but lacking elegance and complexity. Is it really Cabernet? A rough red using the old terminology.

Deep and rich. Deep Ruby in colour, velvety mouthfeel, rich red berry and cassis palate. Good finish.
