i've had this screw top wine sitting around for a few months. i really like the wines of Amador county, and i also like the wines of sonoma's rock pile appellation, so....i took the bait as it was an inexpensive wine at my local Rayley's. i liked it a lot. Good fruity sweet on the nose, on the palate, good mouthfeel...full... definitely tannins in this... but kinda sweet. i see where they were going with this Zin. for the money, it's a great zin. We had it with hastily smoked/reverse seared lamb lollypop ribs from new zeland via costco. There definitely was action between the lamb and the wine...making both taste a bit better...this action was not so much that i'd call it magic. Good wine, good price, drink it mid week. save the good stuff for the weekend.
PNP, Initially big tart cherry, raspberry, cranberry, very fruit forward, turning a touch sweet over the nearly three hours it took to drink, not much structure or complexity but still I could not wait for the next sip.

i liked this zin. I liked it spicy/mineral taste...seems like there were a host of disconnected flavors, might smooth out over time... at first sweetness, then spice, than mineral. Great with a reverse seared ribeye steak and smoked/grilled asparagus.

Okay. A simple Zin dominated by alcohol sweetness. No noticeable tannins or spice notes; subdued fruit.
