  Solid Rioja. Not as good as other vintages, somewhat lacking.

  Half. Decanted for 30 mins having been upright for a week. Some fresh tobacco and cassis and a little hint of ashtray in the background. Some tart redcurrants too. Palate is youthful with some tannins that need 5 years or more to resolve a tad but some lovely acidity and fruits. Even after 90 mins in the decanter, the last sip suggests patient required. Tonight 90 points potential for 92+ in a few years time.

  Flavor follows suit with some black fruit and a it of licorice and baking spice.
  Body is a touch light for the flavor or this would rate even higher. But, as is, it's a very good wine.

  Liked it better than the Gran Reserva. Very lively and complex nose. Dark fruit, white pepper, mint, leather, manur and a meaty character. Medium body, and spot on acidity. Medium plus lenght on the finish that really makes salivate and to want to go back again to the glass.
  93 but gets to 94 because of the price. Banger!
