Day 2: Solid overall but nothing to get over excited about. Earth, dust, leather, spices, mild oak and some red currants. Short to medium finish. Drink now. 90 points

Half. Decanted for 30 mins having been upright for a week. Some fresh tobacco and cassis and a little hint of ashtray in the background. Some tart redcurrants too. Palate is youthful with some tannins that need 5 years or more to resolve a tad but some lovely acidity and fruits. Even after 90 mins in the decanter, the last sip suggests patient required. Tonight 90 points potential for 92+ in a few years time.

Aroma of Oak, vanilla first with dark fruit below.
Flavor follows suit with some black fruit and a it of licorice and baking spice. Body is a touch light for the flavor or this would rate even higher. But, as is, it's a very good wine.

Solid Rioja. Not as good as other vintages, somewhat lacking.
