  • Bought 5 bottles on sale at 20€ per bottle.

From 35-120 years old vines in the northern Barossa subregion of Ebenezer, aged for 14 months in hogsheads and smaller oak barrels.

Elegant Shiraz with mostly blueberries, mocha, roasted cedar, velvet tannins, fresh acidity (6.7 g/l), and some pepper. This is already very enjoyable but might also further develop within the decade.
    Parker rated 91p, Halliday 93p.

  • Deep, dark, and concentrated. A bit timid on the nose, but very talkative on the palate with dark berries, spice, licorice, and smoke. Some tannic grip but backed off enough that it’s ready to go at this stage. Well balanced on the whole though the finish is on the shorter end of things.

  • Opened to drink during service at Oinoscent
Brooding, dense, full on black fruit in the nose, prunes, chocolate, vanilla, fresh marmelade, a bit hot but not aggressively so.
In the palate, the wine is still grapey, alcohol heat (14.50%) in palate, black ripe fruit, drying tannins, tight, tannins from the oak. The wine is brutally young, prunes, a touch nutty/earthy, medium body, medium to long finish.
Lacks real depth and complexity though but then aagin it was probably bottled a few months ago and was travelling for 3 months in the sea to get here. Customers go mad about it , so ....
