St Jacques Burgundy Offline (Tom's Kitchen, Chelsea): Pleasant, if slightly closed sweet red fruits on nose. Some darker fruit notes, nice purity here. Nice savouriness on palate, well judged oak, slightly closed and a little tannic on finish. Very good indeed, this grew on me with time in galss. Plenty of scope for improvement.

Trip to Burgundy; 3/20/2006-3/24/2006 (Burgundy): Lots of ripe, fruit-forward black cherry and kirsch on nose, then same ripe black cherry on the palate. To me, this comes across as a bit simple and more "fun" than "interesting" but perhaps this just needs some time and patience.

Unfiltered ruby red the wine was opened and poured at cellar temp. Initially the nose was very mute, but with some air and time the wine evolved into a rose petals, and cheery blossom delight. On the palate the Dugat was awash with raspberries and medium to dark vibrant fruit. With its slinky mouth feel the mid palate had good vibrant acidity. The finish could have been a touch longer but I am not complaining being that there was only 2 barrels made and Wilfred was kind enough to share 1 bottle with me.

Gevrey Chambertin Clos/Lavax/Estournelles St Jacques Offline (Tom's Kitchen, London): Far darker, almost cherry. very concentrated nose. Good acidity and length. long long finish. Becoming more concentrated with time. Then an almost minty, toothpaste note on the nose. 4+
