Gevrey Jacques Tasting (Chicago + Zoom): Single blind. 08 C Dugat LSJ/99 C Dugat LSJ/99 B Dugat-Py LSJ, 98 C Dugat LSJ Flight. Meaty, smoky, spice aromas with darker black cherry vs. the Claude Dugat LSJs. Wow, dense and broad on the palate with exuberant meat and spice complexity. Concentrated, rich finish. Delicious. WOTF and slightly preferred to the 99 Claude Dugat LSJ.

Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Tasting ("The Jacques") (Chicagoland IL): Dense, all black (ripe) fruit with intense concentration. At one level there is so much here, but at another level, it is a concentrated wine that relies on that intensity for everything. Is that good? Not good? I certainly like this a lot, but just want a little more. Am I being fair?

Dugat Py historically made rich and tannic wines until the recent few years. 1999 was a tannic vintage and doesn’t suit Dugat Py rich and extracted style of wine. In 1999, they over-extracted their wines and the result was a tannic and rustic wine. Dark earthy berries and cassis, thick tannins and grainy backbone. I would struggle to call this a Pinot Noir if served blind. (76/100)

Great red burgundy 1999 horizontal tasting (21 wines) - semi blind (Nordsjaelland): Dark colour as usual from Dugat-Py. Very tertiary/developed with aromas of farmyard. Passed its best after my taste

Dîner After Talich Quartet Concert and Mugneret-Gibourg/ Montille Masterclass (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): Small glass, brief note. Very dense, meaty and powerful black cherry and plum. Long and still slightly brooding. Very good now. Upside from here.
