Wine Club Holiday Party 2022: Pnp pours a cloudy garnet. Nose has cinnamon, also some orange zest. Palate has some mineral iron streak running through it. Tastes a bit tired, going to decant for sediment and to see if it opens in a few hours.
A few hour have passed, and yes, there was tons of sediment on the decant, some fine and some chunks. After the decant, it drinks cleaner, and there is a little bit of fruit still left in here but certainly what's left is showing more structure than characteristics one would be looking for.
Re-visiting on night 2 update and was surprised to see it came to life a bit more. Surprised as I'd left the bottle open on the counter so was expecting to find a half dead wine. I think it's past peak but has some gas in the tank yet.

This bottle has a really complex leafy Burgundy nose. On the palate, it is juicy, spicy and open, but lacks some intensity. Almost gives a slightly dilute impression on the midpalate. But the flavours are beautiful. After an hour in the glass, some medium tannins kick in to firm up the finish. This is the first '95 Grand Cru I've tried that has not been closed or very tannic.

Ron & Robin's Red Burgundy Tasting (Robin's House, San Diego CA): Nose of herbs, a little menthol on top of perfumed fruit. Very soft and pretty pedigree cherry fruit. Not unctuous enuf for me yet, but give this guy 5 years and WOW (hopefully). $88
