  • Wood is way too present with vanilla notes. Fruit is present but right now the wood is dominating.

  • Wow, what a wine. I picked up a sealed six-pack plus one bottle. So, I left the single bottle in the car when I put the six-pack in the cellar. It was pretty warm outside, but I thought nothing of it. When I got home, I was surprised that the bottle was very warm and leaking. Well, I decided to PnP the warm wine, and to my surprise, it was amazing. Having spent 40 months in new oak, I found it was well-integrated and had loads of dark fruit. I decanted the rest in the fridge to cool it down, then passed out and forgot about it. Woke up and found the decanter in the fridge. So, I thought I would give it a go later in the day. And I did, and it was just as good as it was the night before. It just seemed like the tannins came through, but in a good way. If you can get your paws on a couple of bottles, do so, and you will be happy. I just picked up three more bottles. I see now why Jeb updated his score (3/28/2024), and it went up a couple of points, and he was flirting with using words such as perfect wine or pinnacle.

    Grand vin !
