Had that musty, aged aroma. Spiced and fruity. Will age my other bottle for a couple more years but not sure if it will improve the wine. Maybe best 2 years ago.

Violet, five spice, and a soft breeze over a field of strawberry. Medium acidity, very gentle tannins. Elegant palate, basil, strawberry, and white rock. Less dynamic than a year ago, still well built but lacking a spark.

Had this with bbq ribs, it's open for business, a little kirsch liquor, red and black cherry, minimal candied effect, some English breakfast tea leaf in the background. Silky texture with minimal tannin and what's there is polished. 19s were a little more red fruited and structured. I like to drink Beaujolais within a year or two of release. No tertiary notes please

Nose: strong Provence herbs, lavender, bourbon barrel, Mexican vanilla, reposado tequila, red rope licorice, herb liquor (e.g. Ramazzoti); palate: surprisingly light, red pepper, (boysen)beery jam, woody and cloves ; color: purple
Pairing: preiselbeer and wild deer for meat eaters, mole poblano (Turkey) or pumpkin cappuccino soup from Sackmann
