Decanted 1/2 the bottle, but after letting it sit for an hour realized this wasn't necessary. While the wine retained descent weight, it was softer than desired.

MoMo's Dallas for Rose's bday. As a pop and pour this showed great depth on its dark, heady nose. Considerable tannins and solid heft. This is a one of the more enjoyable Italian wines we've encountered, and subsequently purchased several bottles through the restaurant @ retail. Aligned with the 92's from both WA/JS.

Tasted at Benvenuto Brunello in NYC. Dark, slightly translucent garnet color. Nose is somewhat muted with the oak/vanilla on display more than the red cherry and black raspberry fruit that comes through with more air. Medium acidity and Medium(+) tannin. Rich on the palate with good density and complexity showing cherry, chocolate, minerals and earth. Long finish. Balanced and age-worthy. Cellar it at least through its 10th birthday.
