  • A dash of cocoa, smoke, flowers, tobacco and sweet red fruits create the perfume. On the medium-bodied palate, the wine is soft, vibrant, supple, and spicy with loads of salty, sweet, black cherries and peppery currants with another dash of cocoa to everything up nicely in the finish. The wine blends 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 7% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2024-2037.

  • Leuchtendes Rubinrot. Der Duft ist anfangs verhalten, zeigt mit etwas Luft Sauerkirschen und Kräuter. Im Gaumen von leichtem bis mittlerem Körper, die Tannine sind leicht flockig, die Frucht ist knapp reif, der Wein hat deutlich weniger Körper als in anderen Jahren, zeigt im Abgang Sauerkirschen und endet in einem leicht trocknenden Finale. 2026-2040 (Verkostet im November 2023 in Zürich bei UGCB)

  • Easy to like, this shows a smoky raspberry and currant leaf profile that feels familiar to me for Carbonnieux, with a very soft structure and nice savory elements, without veering into overtly green. Tannins are a little drying but this is meant for food, afterall.

  • Union Des Grands Crus Bordeaux (New York City, NY, USA): Pretty forward and round, easy to drink. Fresh, tannins in check with decent acidity. Plum, blackberry and cassis fruit notes. Clean. Moderately long. Nice.
