Slightly darker yellow than I expected, some initial cork funk blew off and revealed hints of butterscotch, pear and honey. A little unbalanced almost, some initial tartness quickly dissapated leaving a relatively thin core of remaining fruit. I would not have guessed this was a , nor an 18 year old white from a full styled vintage, if tasted blind. Had this with a friend who turned me on to Mersaults in 1978. These are not same age worthily whites of the 1970s and 1980s that I fell in love with those many years ago. Lafon 1982 Desiree kills this 14 year younger Clos de la Barre.
