Incredibly strong Pinot from TRB, very much on the fruit and has this wonderful charm to it. Notes of dark cherry, pomegranate, slight liquorice, baking spice and fresh earth. The palate is charming and gushes with dark plump fruit, cedar and spice, silky tannins, the mid-palate is succulent and juicy yet with real structure and persistence leading to a focused yet fresh finish. Compared to the Dujac from last night, this hit it out of the park. Damn who needs Burgundy ;)

Violets, orange blossom on the nose. Heavily perfumed. Amarena cherry and raspberry on the palette. A little tannic backbone that presents as forest floor. Altogether a very nice wine that is drinking well right now. It has room to develop for another 3-5 years but it is plenty enjoyable now.

Premiere Napa Valley; 2/22/2023-3/25/2023 (Napa, California): First time tasting Rivers-Marie wines, I was impressed by all wines that were poured. The Chardonnays had both energy and tension wrapped around a core of fruit, the Pinot Noirs showed refinement and more Burgundian in style, the Cabernets again nicely refined and focused.
Aromas of bright red cherry, black tea, clay, bramble and a touch of graphite. The palate is medium+ bodied , light and elegant with sexy red berry fruit, pomegranate, savoury undertone, forest floor and orange peel, the mid-palate is luxurious and gourmet, finishing long and lingering.
