Perhaps i got caught up in the magic at the winery but this let me down. It was very ackward with lots of vanilla bean, pepper and smoked meats but the oak was just too dominant here. Sweet concentration with vanilla and red cherries. Simple, with pure acid med alc and a new world presentation but lacking the oomph. stylistically this is stuck in a weird place between cali and europe. This really bores me. 86pts

taste: great medium/full feel with black and red cherries, black currant tones, cracked pepper and some bits of dark florals
overall: an outstanding and well balanced syrah. Good fruit that is accompanied by classic syrah flavors giving off great aromatics. Round attack of black cherries with a excellent pepper based finish

Sweet with lots of dark cherry, a little spice. Medium bodied, a bit of a short finish. Better day 2 than day 1.
