Wow, this was a really delicious and interesting wine. Thanks Carl. Lots of great black pepper, herbal notes, plums and mix of dark fruit with great acid; juicy and delicious with an awesome QPR.

100% Negrette, a local grape of Fronton AOC, 20 miles north of Toulouse. Deep ruby. M+ acid. M alcohol. M+ tannin with fine, almost powdery grain. M intensity. M+ body. M/M+ concentration. M/M+ complexity. Worn saddle leather, immaculate barn, ripe savory blackberry, black cherry, red cherry, black licorice, faint woody herb. Mostly fresh ripe fruit that's more savory than sweet. A nice wine, especially at the price.

Like previous vintages the perfume and fruit are beguilingly exuberant with notes of cherry and exotic spice with a slightly ferrous earthiness, which I didn't note before and perhaps suaver texture. A delightful wine for drinking young. Very good.

Purplish red. Medium bodied. On the nose: dark berries, earthiness, iron/blood. In the mouth: dark berries, slight sulphur. A little tannic but not too much. Served with food the tannins get unnoticed. Could be the perfect communion wine. ;-)
