Initially quite tannic and mouth puckering. Tasted over a 2 day period and evolved in the bottle each day. On the last tasting, had changed to a beautiful Chianti Classico Riserva with red and dark cherry notes, resolved tannins, medium to full bodied, long finish, and a joy to drink. Much better at the end of day two.

Gambero Rosso Tasting (Doltone House, Sydney): Cream, polished oak offers a touch of chocolate and caramel as well as some sweet spice, red cherry and a little tobacco leaf complete the nose. Sourly juicy with drying woody, chalky textured tannins, a little cream, red cherry fruit, Meh.
