ruby-coloured and light-bodied. some funk in the nose gives way to a reticent nose of dark cherry, currants and hints of anise. dark cherry and currant flavours wash across the palate with moderate intensity as the anise/fennel notes appear and give a bit of lift. quite structured at the moment and with moderate length.
13% AbV; from 60+ y.o. vines; aged for fourteen months in French oak (30% new).

Tasting of 2021 Albert Morot Reds (Beaune, France): Barrel sample. Red color. Red fruit and fennel. Light and delicate on the verge of being too lean. Some brambliness like the Savigny. Length is clipped by grainy tannins. Don’t care for the balance in this wine.
