Dark cherry red with an earthy nose. Plum, minerals and earth on smooth palate. Drinking ok, but a little more fruit desired. Probably showing its age.

Medium ruby color. Medium-expressive nose of sour cherries, some subtle smoke, herbs and some minerality (like graphite). On the palate there are notes of sour cherries again, quite a lot of minerals and some herbs. Medium-bodied with medium pretty fresh acidity and still medium-low tannin. Medium length. It leaves an overall impression of juicyness and freshness. There is a touch of green but I think this is more coming from the grape variety than from unripe grapes. This has been one of the best "basic" Blaufränkisch I know year after year and at $18 (where I live) it's an amazing value with a lot of character and a refreshingly moderate level of alcohol by today's standards (12.5%). (90+)

It had some greenish part of some cabernet franc, meanwhile wannabe pinot. K. liked it but it looks like I don't care for it. It is well made, but not my cup of tea...

Starts out with bright red and dark fruited flavours lifted by bright acidity. With time the structure becomes more dominant as the tannins come into the foreground and this becomes a little bitter - not bad now, but I reckon it just needs a lot of time.
