  • Very generously shared by Antoine Chiquet on a visit to the Domaine. This came straight from the cellars of Gaston Chiquet, having been disgorged and then laid down c. 40 years ago.

Such a light gold colour still and a few fine bubbles. Great nose smelling like the top of a crème brûlée. Some reduction which blows off. Crème brûlée on palate and hints of honey, cream, some figs and stewed raisin.

Very elegant and complexity. Still fresh! Long, multi layered finish. Hint of mint as it opens? Nose keeps evolving - marmalade, coffee, toffee.

A very special experience and shows just how incredibly great Champagne can age. A real highlight of the time spent in Champagne.

    70% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir.
