  • One of my favorite German producers of Riesling. They pretty much nail it yr in yr out.

Rieslings are a Somm darling. But, I find it hard to drink a whole bottle w/o the right food. Mostly due to their sweetness. Prefer Kabinett.

The mouthfeel is nice, round and creamy. Bright lemon, lime, grapefruit, tropicals, pineapple, kiwi, passion fruit, lychees, cream hovers on the mouth roof, limestone, chalky powder, white and yellow flowers, excellent round acidity and a well structured, balance and beautifully polished finish that last a full minute.

  • Very light hue (almost transparent). Aromas and flavors of apple, guava, lime, mango, melon, peach, and petrol. Medium body with medium acidity. Easy drinking (akin to apple juice). Incredible dessert wine.

  • Method: Pop and pour; white wine glass; fridge temp

    Look: Light straw

Nose: lime pith, stream water, jasmine, light pineapple gummy bear; a bit muted

Palate: lime, limeade, (underripe?) pineapple gummy bear; medium+ finish lime, lime zest, light mineral, light fresh parsley; medium sweetness; medium- body; high- acidity; very fine, very slight effervescence

Overall thoughts: I'm surprised by what I get as a less ripe and citrus-y flavor profile (tastes more like a Kabinett to me). Very elegant with great acidity and nice tension, although, the different elements don't quite seem integrated to me. I prefer a bit more of a stone fruit flavor profile in my Spatlesen, but this is still a pretty great wine.

  • Nose: peach, mineral, not super expressive

Palate: white peach, lime, peach gummy rings, mineral, citrus; long finish of citrus and peach; crisp, energetic high - acid; medium -/low + body, smooth

Overall: that first sip is so delicious, the acid is perfect with a beautiful, effervescent pop that I love! My only wish is that it was a bit more expressive.

  • peachy, gummy bear after taste, not overly sweet, similar to Moscato level sweetness.
