Needed two applications of the Durand to fully remove the completely destroyed cork, but what a stunner awaited. Terrific depth and length with somewhat more black than red fruit but plenty elegant all the same with no overt oak spice whatsoever. Can't imagine this will ever drink better but guessing it will stand up here for years to come.

Mørk farge. Starter med kirsebær og modne jordbær på duft. Med luft blir vinen veldig jordlig og får et svakt hint av vått papp. Tror det er litt korkfeil her, og ikke optimal flaske.

Tasted together with 2006 Chevillon Vaucrains, and was definitely a step up in quality. More powerful, still more velvety with finer tannins. The tannins seem to have melted since tasted a couple of years ago, and performs better now. Seems young. Great wine.

Still deep colour, powerful aromas in the Zalto burgundy glass. Earth, undergrowth and sour cherries. Layer upon layer. A very "dark" taste right before the aftertaste is not quite tar, but more like fresh tarmac. The aftertaste goes on and on. The previous bottles were a mixed bag, but this is just fabulous. One of my best burgundies ever!

Lovely rich nose of dark fruit, brambles, earth, minerals. Rich+ palate, more fruit and good density, long earthy finish. Excellent balance. A really powerful 2006, good now but on the upslope. Intense.
