  • PnP. Dark berries and cassis, some pyrazine herbal notes, but in a supporting role, low level graphite notes. Medium body, medium acid, some drying tannins in the finish. Younger, easier drinking style, but there's a lot to like here. Good now, perhaps best 5 years form the vintage. For $20, I like this a lot. Will likely come

  • Delicious. Excellent dark fruit with dried herbs, light floral notes and lively acid. I actually drank this after the bottle had been opened for 24 hours. Really great for the price. A really wonderful Chinon.

  • NOSE: sheaves of tall blue grass surround alluring arrangements of ripe berries black and red. This develops considerably after adjustment and drinking. MOUTH: striking, impacted, rigid grains of blackcurrant extract, concealed in superficial austerity—it chimes hard graphite/slate/iron and pointed, ripe root tannins. All of this flavor gains considerably with patient slurping. RETRAL-NOSE: the austerity of a drink elucidates smell more profoundly attractive than did the first inhale, as inviting as it was. Now, it's almost embarrassing, with floral perfume (violet, rose, lilac) and intense eaux de vie of cassis, currant, and blackberry. RE-MOUTH: it remains trim and tannic. The event gradually includes tines of fresh acidity, salted raspberry tonic, and paving stone. SUMMARY: I'll hope to add a few bottles for drinking later this decade, while steadily gathering an optimistic read on this vintage. 90+

24 hours later, half-full, resealed tabletop—it tastes just a little more together today, perhaps at the cost of some sharpness.

  • Wasn’t much here. For the price point I’d go up one of their bottlings.
