In my cellar a long time, so long that it was never entered in CT which means it was pre 2006, The palest pink so that it looked like a maderized white in the glass. Bread and crushed stones on the nose. Still fresh with nice acidity with good mousse and bead. Mature palate of brioche, crushed stones with a hint of strawberry. A lovely mature champagne.
There was a lot of life to this wine. Drank to celebrate with Doug. Color was quite light for a rose. Nose more nuanced and complex than bright--yeast, mineral, tart cherry, hint of spice. Lots of strawberry, energy and acid on the palate. Very smooth. Delightful old Champers!
Dinner at Home (Vancouver, BC): Orange colour. Nose offered hints of yeast with mainly strawberry and floral notes. Really nice acidity on the palate with red berry and creamy strawberry flavours. Good length and drinking well but still quite young showing good intensity and energy. This should be even better in 2-3 years. Excellent. 91+
Dinner at Devin and Emily's (Vancouver, BC): Very brief notes. Orange in color. Quite young and intense, with a great backbone of acidity. Strawberry and yeasty on both the palate and nose. Should be superb with a few more years in the cellar. Very good+
