Community Tasting Notes (38) Avg Score: 91.6 points

  • I will add to the comments of Therealpepe and XavierAurbach in scoring this as an excellent, elite wine. I too reviewed it earlier, Christmas Day 2020 (see below) and at the time I rated it 93 with a potential to go to 95. Still true. Color today is soft pink, salmon. The nose is wonderfully fragrant even right out of the bottle with notes of strawberry, rose petal, blood orange all melding to provide an incredible freshness. As many other note, the mousse is very light and almost hard to see after about five minutes, but in no way does this subtract from the wine since it’s still present on the palate. This finish is equally complex, still-present acidity provides a nice structure, framing the fruit and elongating the palate. Just love it.

  • Smooth, light weighted and agreable Champagne with fine mousse. Some fresh bread aromas, but the most dominating aromas are the fruity ones, with lemon and light red berries. A bit sweet.

  • Funny, I was about to write my review, but looked at recent TNs and realized if I published it would look like plagiarism of @xavierauerbach ! Check it out - it is spot on. The 2012 Pol Roger Brut Rosé is a complete wine. Juicy fruits with a minerally backbone, tight but now missing sharp edges as it matures. Better than the 2008. Probably the best Rosé bubbles I have had in a long time. Outstanding.

  • Starting to enter its plateau of maturity. Still the same deep copper pink of a couple of years ago but now the fruit seems to have shed some of its earlier sweetness and is entering a more savoury phase. As always with Pol Roger, refined and complex with reserves of underling power, this is drinking beautifully now.

  • Deep Pinot Noir nose. Pinot Noir fruit to the fore on the palate, long acid line and fine mousse. Can hold for short to medium term well.
