Decanted, 2 hrs in a wide-bottom decanter. On the nose: loads of hi-toned red fruit, a hint of va, maybe a touch of reduction. On the palate: fantastic acidity, ruby colored, pomegranate, cranberry, ripe red fruit..all that with 12.7% ABV, wow.
Absolutely nothing like any incarnation of this wine I have had since 2011. Fascinating, and an early crowd pleaser, with no mushroom/earthy character. Lovely.

Superb. An incredible achievement of New world Pinot Noir. A dead ringer for Burgundy. With both richness and decadence balanced with restraint and elegance. And just the right amount of cellar funk. Smooth and ripe yet still structured and firm. Approachable and easy yet still worthy of the long-term cellar. Really quite perfect in almost every way. Compared to the other Pinots from the same house and vintage, this one had the most darkness and spice. Easily good for 20 years if you have the patience
