Drinking beautifully. Elegant all the way around. Started off with some funk and light red fruit with lush mid palate and tarragon in the finish. As it opened the very fine tannins filled out the mid palate and some plums appeared with even more herbs in the finish

Magnum Madness 2011! (Marshall's place): Quite funky aromas at first, but some vigorous swirling cleans that up. Certainly still earthy and funky, though, but in a pleasing way as it's coupled with mild fruit, nice mushrooms and forest floor aromas. Fairly light bodied, with nice earthy presence, with light greeness. Really not much going on on the palate, though. More tart greeness on the finish. Pretty straight forward.

Paper filtered and decanted leaving chunky residue and yielding a bright red liquor with sweet aromas of red fruit. This was an extraordinary wine which opened up very quickly and had an explosive quality on the palate -- rich red fruit flavors with layers of underlying structure and a mildly tart finish. It stood up well after the intense blue fruit flavors of the Beaux Freres 2001 which had preceded it.

Nice, interesting nose with some barn and wet hay and manure. A bit hot, with a bitterness throughout. some fizziness. Long bitter aftertaste overpowers the cherrys and fruit. Not what I expected
