  Tasting with some crazy geeks (@Private location, Solingen): *** Brief notes for my own memory, no CT rating. Points expressed are only rough guidelines ***
  Popped and poured. Still young, would have benefitted from decanting. Fresh, youthful Nebbiolo nose, some red fruit, rose petals. On the palate perfect balance of acidity and tannin. Deep, balanced, young. Long, complex finish. Wonderful wine and experience! 94-95

  This took several hours to come around, but finally developed an elegant bouquet of rose, iron, and camphor. The palate similarly needed time, as I initially found this rather four square, driven by dark fruit and tar, evolving impressive complexity and secondary flavors with air. Balanced acidity. The 1996 San Lorenzo Ravera is excellent. Drink now through 2035.

  G Rinaldi Barolo 'Cannubi San Lorenzo Ravera' '96. En av mine favorittprodusenter, alltid rimelig siste årgang på restaurant i Piemonte og hans Brunate Riserva '89 drukket ved to anledning er blant de beste Nebbiolo-opplevelser.
  
  Vinen ble dobbeltdekantert og tilbake på flaske torsdag, og helt på dekanter to timer før konsum fredag. En helt fantastisk parfymert nese med fioler, sopp, anis, kirsebær, tjære (siste glass lørdag viste noe sigar). Prikkende tanniner i munnen, kirsrbær. I dag lørdag, etter et døgn på dekanter er vinen mer fokusert. Blir sittende å sniffe. Fredag servert til risotto naturell med hvite trøfler, lørdag kontemplasjon.
