Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of dust, leather, white pepper, plums and boysenberries. Flavors of berries, raspberries and strawberries. Tart acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink now.
Garnet color with brick colors more pronounced to the edges and nearly opaque. The aromas are currants, brown sugar, vegetal, caramel, and cherry. The tastes are sour cherry, spices, wood, and some meat. The body Is light and the tannins are still course satin.
Opened and double decanted at 4pm and drunk over the next 5 hours. The best was the last taste. Contrary to most opinions this needed lots of air to fully evolve. Lovely nose of chocolate, tar, leather and cherry. Palate needed time but was smooth as silk after 3 hours with rich chocolate, black cherry, tobacco, some spice and earthy leather. Fairly long aftertaste. If you drink this wine too quickly you will think it over the hill. Despite the age it is not as fragile as some expect. If stored well it will blossom after several hours or more. Give it time.
