  • A great Condrieu which demonstrates emphatically that it can age and get better.

  • Wow... What a statement pro ageability of Condrieu-wines...
Huge, intoxicating nose floral nose of wild roses, tropical fruit and oriental spice. Big, oily mid-palate add complex nuances of mango, honey-drizzled pastry, Turkish Delight, custard cream, and macadamia brittle. Spice-laced finish boasting ginger, cardamom and lemon oil for 40+ seconds. Very impressive, demanding attention and concentrated, I don't think I could finish a bottle on my own, but i'd happily share one with my best friends. If only it wasn't my last bottle...

  • Had the '06 twice before, so I was happy to offer '07 to Dan and 11 great fellows. Great on the nose (noted also by two of the res staff right away) hint of sweetness. Color along the line with the '06 Color (yellow/light gold) Great match with the appetizers. Not too many detailed notes though. Hopefully some of the other participants did take notes before finishing the bottle :-)

    92 solid with positive prospect

  • A very nicely aged Viognier-- something unusual to say - and apparently typical of he Les Chaillet vineyard. Not as many bright tropical fruit notes and more reminiscent now of the mineral leaning of an Hermitage. Richer almost burnt apricot tones with pronounced minimality leaning toward skate and mixed rocky soil. Drink up.

  • Drunk on coquilles saint jacques a' la poele. This is a rich, deep, intense, exciting bottle. pale yellow in color, the nose is somewhere between flowers and yellow fruits. but the mouth... oh, the mouth is an explosion of grapefruit and pineapple, with the alcohol and the acidity to sustain everithing in a perfect equilibrium. with few degrees more in temperature it changed, some orange fruit came, but then I was drunk, and so happy.
