Dark garnet orange but relatively translucent with some light sediment. Rose and tar of course, some smoke and anise too. Full mouth feel with red cherry-like fruit and I'm not sure what else to call it but a little sweet-tart like pop at the back when it hasn't been open too long. Tannins feel like they have dropped out a bit but not gone; still assertive. Long finish. Very drinkable, fresh bright and fruity for something over 20 years.

drinking very well right now. has all of the classic barolo aromas : rose petals, tar, licorice, etc... still a bit tannic... others said wine would lose all of its fruiit before it sheads its tannins... very good none-the-less..

Opaque orange-garnet in color. Rough nose of tar, blackberry liqueur, smoke and a slight floral element. Medium-to-full bodied in the mouth and dominated by tannin, yet the fruit manages to feel juicy and fresh. This wne needs several more years in the cellar before it approaches its drinknig window. 50+4+12+16+8=90

Fantastic bottle of wine, served with a slow cooked pork shoulder with a nebbiolo sauce.
