2019 FTLOP Harvest Tour; 9/19/2019-9/28/2019 (Portugal): Bottled in 1986. Dike says that in his opinion, this is the best LBV his father made. Light amber in color with clearing on the edges. Strawberry and red fruit on the nose and some noticeable age. Lush red fruit and chocolate on the palate. Extremely balanced with a finish of strawberry and good acidity.

Niepoort LBV Vertical - Pre 2000 wines: Creamy and perfectly mature with just a touch of fruit left. Elegant and clean/pure flavors where everything is well integrated. Lovely piercing acidity and just a beautiful wine. Very harmonic.

Light brown ruby color, quite translucent. On nose it's perfumed with aromas of old wood, liquor, remarkable aniseed and a powerful coffee aroma. On palate this wine is plain incredible... sweet, elegant, with a great present sweet tannin and a fresh mid-palate. It has a long, very long finish, with flavors of milk chocolate, anise and medicinal notes.(92-94)

A Port tasting with friends: bottled 1986, a ripe colour (already), a fresh and young showing bouquet, medium sweet, friendly taste, a nice bitterness, also noticeable alcohol. not impressive.
