Delicious, and youthful at 8 years old. Sweet pineapple and a hint of spice. One of the best Chardonnays I've had recently, better than the Marcassin I had last night.

Aubert Tasting and Dinner (My home - Chicago IL): I included this for fun in a flight to contrast with several vintages (2000-2003) of Aubert's Ritchie Vineyard Chardonnay. This was toasty with mature stone fruit aromas and flavors, perhaps 1 or 2 years past its peak, but still drinking well with some black truffle and baking spice support.

Aubert Tasting (Alan's): Bonus bottle for the Ritchie flight. Medium full yellow color. Lovely nose of truffle cheese with citrus hints. Nice rich palate with butterscotch and a slightly oily note. Less acidity here too - doesn't seem to be holding up as well as the Auberts.

Burgundy Al's Aubert Dinner - Near Complete Vertical / Horizontal (Chicago, IL): Shy nose shows fuzzy and oxidized. Palate has butterscotch, toast and creamy white fruits. Losing some freshness. A favorite that's on the down slope.
