clear ruby color with little bit orange on its rim. Aroma of red fruits, white and green pepper, mushroom, coffee。 Enough complexity. medium acidity and medium+ tannin. Long finish with feeling of tannin. Drinking with 89 Leroy LBM and 93 Leroy NSG, this bottle has significantly more clear palate. Just as 1988 Leroy, Yes it's Leroy but not that Leroy. 1197/3876.

Leroy Week; 8/24/2021-8/27/2021 (Hong Kong): 1197/3876. Nose is a lot more reserved than later vintages, more earthy and woody character, purple fruit, less flamboyant spice. The palate however displays what this vineyard can achieve, with tremendous energy and layers building up back and forth. Finesse and power. 94

Forward, racy, opulent, lush. Lots of red and black cherry. Juicy but with a lovely floral and stemmy profile. Candied red cherry. Detailed and highly expressive aromatics. Whiffs of menthol to the black cherry. Resolved but with plenty of juice. Palate seems to oxidative fairly quickly in the glass, a fresh pour is better. Great finesse and purity. A good example of the positive aspects of ‘89, no stewed character here. Stylistically Leroy, haven’t had one in a while, smells like DRC Echezeaux. 93-94.

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“No” day): Pale ruby with garnet hues.
Mature red fruits like dates and preserved cherries. Rose waters.
Great minerality, with minerality to match. Still some silky tannins still. Good grip of mature flavours but quite a long finish indeed
93-94 points.
Second round about 1.5 hours upon uncorking: More medicinal and again finer acidity that inspires a long finale. Retain at 93-94 points.
Third round about 2 hours upon uncorking: More umami and savoury purplish mature fruits.

Agree with those saying the acidity and structure are noticeable....for me the fruit is fading. would drink sooner than later
