Jammy nose of black raspberry, blueberry, and light floral notes. Black cherry, blueberry, cinnamon, and wet stones underlaid with a wide drive of acidity - not too tart but wide across the whole tongue, adding some light bell pepper notes as it flows into the finish. Dried herbs, fully resolved fine tannins, and plum pass quickly on the relatively short finish. Improved in the glass even after a short decant, but drink up if you have any left!

Dark garnet with only a thin brick hued rim showing it’s age. Upon opening the nose was totally dominated with the leather notes, with some dried petals and tar. After half an hour in the glass a distant jammed red fruit note has appeared. On the palate very soft and delicate, with most of tannins gone but still good acidity keeping it tight. Long, pleasant finish. It’s still good, but I wish I’d open it a couple of years earlier…

Wine seems a bit closed, drank it in two days, after some decanting the wine seems to open up. Colour: ruby red almost purple On the nose: dark red fruit (plums, cherries), earthy, dusty and something like green bell pepper On the palate: ripe fruit, cherries, spicy, a hint of pepper, oaky, still a bit tannic
Somehow I expected more of this wine, maybe some cellaring would have added to the development, but I am glad I finished my bottles.

Subsequent notes on this wine from over three years ago. Deep, dark reddish-purple in color. Full, forward & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with overtones of earthy/dusty & floral notes, dried herbs, spices, some anise, dark cocoa, minerals & a touch of cedar. Medium-deep bodied with a good concentration of smooth textured & well balanced, lush, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with spices, herbs, minerals, cocoa & a touch of oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & airing but should develop slightly further with several more years of additional aging. It has aged quite well despite its immediate accessibility upon release. An indicative blend of Merlot & Syrah.
