Oh ladies and boys! What a great wine! But accurately describing it, the thing' is very drinkable, very smooth, very addictive, despite of 18 year old. What else I can say about it? It's simple wine. Therefore, I have a dilemma, because wine is definitely too expensive. It cost me €40 and newer editions cost at least €50 or more. There are so many wines that are ' smooth and easy' but they cost much, much less. Don't buy it for this kind of price, but I have bought it! And it's 2004, that according critics, already has passed its time. Not in my bottle! It's still fresh, juicy, live! Smell - loads of ripe red berries, herbs ( mamma Mia!), Something else's here but I don't know how to describe it ( dust, tobacco, forest???). Taste - let's start with texture first, because it's very nice. Milky one! Flavors - milk chocolate counterbalanced by spice. And black fruit interspersed between those two flavors. Very, very addictive juice, but the price...😱 Just for a record - 55% Merlot, 35% Shiraz – both from the Bolgheri estate – and 10% Sangiovese from Montalcino.

Getting kind of long in the tooth, this wine doesn't have the finish length it once did. Probably seen its best days, and the CT drink by seems to be about right (by 2012). Still shows good fruit and complexity in early and mid, but fading. Drink now.

Gourmetklubbens femtionde middag: Tema Första middagen (Södermalm, Stockholm (P+A)): (55% Merlot, 35% Shiraz from Bolgheri and 10% Sangiovese from Montalcino)
Nice and pleasant with a evolved tannins, some acidity on the palate and a touch of liquorice and herbs on the lengthy finish.
(Best 2014-2031)

This wine has met its Waterloo. I think I'm going to cook with my remaining bottles.

Cola, licorice/anise, tart cherry, more feminine in style. Bottle opened over an hour before drinking, not decanted.
