Opened for about an hour. Still a very nice bottle. Dark fruit, spice, and some cedar on the nose. Dark ruby and moderate legs. Medium mouth feel. The tannin are gone. Very smooth. Dark fruit, cherry and earth on the palate. Long, smooth finish with a hint of spice. Nicely balanced.

Left open for 30 minutes, then drunk with a Santa Maria tri-tip and roasted vegetables. Nose of cassis, blackberry, cedar, with hints of nutmeg and cinnamon in the background. Palate follows the nose, the fruit a little cooked now 15 years in. Tannins pretty much gone, fruit fading but still there, so fruit wins, hurray! Stays on the palate forever - the word "finish" doesn't really apply. Take a sip, suck a little air and you will be tasting this wine until you put something else in your mouth. I could maybe fault it for being a bit less complex than some cabs in its class, but that seems ungenerous. It's really spectacular, and I'm sorry I didn't wait six more months to share it with a larger group of friends, post-Covid. Not collapsing, but won't get better, I would say drink over the next year unless you have a case...

Dark fruit and cedar on the nose. Dark ruby and moderate legs. Medium mouth feel. The tannin are just about gone. Dark fruit, cherry and earth on the palate. Subtle, so this is not a fruit bomb. Smooth finish with a hint of spice. Nicely balanced wine.

16 years old and still good after decanting for a few hours. The tannins are about gone but wine still has some legs.
